The journey to reach the entrance of Rawaiya Suites includes venturing down a dusty, secluded road. While traveling down to this new complex, the metaphorical and literal feeling of turning off the busy and more traveled road into something quieter is both very real and apparent. The complex is located within five minutes of the beach and very close to Phuket Town.

There is also a real feeling of things being under development in the area. Villa and resort poster advertisements adorn the side of the roads attempting to attract the attention of investors and serious tourists. Indeed, even the Rawaiya Suites is still under development ahead of an opening date of November 1st, just in time for the start of high season.

The complex is set out on a boxy plot, with a swimming pool providing the centrepiece. There are 27 identical units spilt into nine mini towers, one suite on each of the three floors. On another side of this square-shaped facility will stand a restaurant, explains Hakan Wallin, sales manager for Rawaiya Suites developer Tharadon Estate. The restaurant will provide international and Thai dishes. It will also serve as place to relax and have a coffee. The final side of this complex will be home to a separate spa for both men and women and also a fully equipped fitness centre. In addition, there is ample room for residents to park their cars.

The suites themselves are cosy at 65sqm and perfect for a couple or young family. The suites contain one master bedroom with huge sliding closet doors. Depending on which of two floor plan designs are selected, either the bedroom or living room has patio doors with nice views looking out on the swimming pool. The living room comes with an L-shaped couch that ambitiously has enough room for five people to sit at one time.

The bathroom has a large bath, and the room is coloured in grays and blacks, very much in concurrence with the dark interior theme of the suite.

There are lots of new Phuket luxury villas and resorts in the Rawai area, and when asked what Rawaiya Suites could offer that the others couldn’t, Wallin quite rightly points out, “Its closer proximity to the beach and its high service and return investment for owners.” That led into the most relevant point. The type of customers that Rawaiya Suites is trying to appeal to are “people who are retired or people who are looking to invest.”

The development offers a fair rental option for people who own the properties. Whether you buy as an easily managed, simply designed holiday retreat, or purchase solely for the very attractive investment option, either way this resort is definitely something to consider. “Rawaiya Suites is a small exclusive service resort,” Wallin says. “It provides a high quality of life inside and out.”

Pricing starts at 3.69 million baht. Rawaiya Suites, off of Viset Road, Rawai, is developed by Tharadon Estate. 0-7624-5968.www.tharadonestate.com.
